Gnat at Trivandrum Science and Tech Museum

George Joseph has taken photos of Gnat at the Trivandrum Museum. To confuse matters, it shares the same serial number as the Gnat at Maint Command. [31/12/05]


Confirmed Gnat and Ouragan at Hasimara

Sanjay Simha has confirmed the existence of a Gnat and an Ouragan at Hashimara airbase [31/12/05]


An Mi-4 at 3 Base Repair Depot, Chandigarh.

While glancing thru an air force publication titled "Ekalavya" , about Maintainance Command, I had chanced upon the photo of an  Mi-4 preserved at 3 BRD Chandigarh. [30/11/05]


Delhi Transport Park warbirds.

Kapil Dahiya from Delhi has confirmed the presence of a Gnat and an Mi-4 in the Delhi Traffic Police Training Park. These were first reported by Rupak a few years ago [24/08/05]


A Gnat sighted in the hindi movie HUM

Anyone seeing the movie HUM, an Amitabh starrer will notice a Gnat on display at some kind of a school premises. This occurs during the title song in the second part of the movie. [24/08/05]


Sanjay Simha sights a Sukhoi-7 gateguard at Bagdogra

Sanjay has confirmed that he had seen a Sukhoi-7 gate guardian at Bagdogra airfield. The aircraft was outside the main gate but he was refused permission to photograph them. [31/05/05]


B Harry reports on a derelict Fokker F-27 at Chennai.

A derelict Fokker F-27 belonging to Elbee aircraft had been lying at the Chennai airport for  years This was recently moved out of the way to a corner of the airfield on the orders of the Civil Aviation Minister.   Apparently there are atleast another four derelict Fokkers lying in the airport belonging to NEPC.

Nitin Venkatesh reports a Gnat at the Sri Jayaramachandra College of Engineering, Mysore

Nitin Venkatesh has the following to say on our forum:

There was a real sad looking Ajeet at the SJCE , Mysore - I  think its one- in front of the Mechanical Engineering block, in the college  quadrangle formed by the Mech Engineering dept, Instrumentation tech,  civil eng. dept and the principals office. The aircraft was in a really decrepit condition. It had two fuel tanks still  on the wings (1 each) but the engine and all other important stuff had  been removed. There were panels missing on the fuselage and airframe itself and the plane shows clear signs of bad wear and tear. [29/04/05]


Phil Camp reports a Sea Hawk memorial at Dabolim - and a number of wrecks

Aparently there is a Sea hawk Memrial at Dabolim airfield in Goa. It also appears that a number of wrecks have been dumped in the airfield, including the two Il-38s. two Sea Harriers and a wingless Kiran IN-051 [27/02/05]

Rishi Tandon has confirmed sighting a Hunter at Jorhat - on the way to Kaziranga forest [27/02/05]


Canberra IP990 flies into Aero India 2005

Canberra PR57, IP990 of 106 SPR Squadron had flown into Yelahanka to take part in the Static Display. The first time that a vintage aircraft has taken part in the numerous Static Displays that have come up in recent years. a detailed report and exclusive photographs will soon follow [27/02/05]


VT-ULS at Jakkur Airport

Visitors to Aero India 2005 in Bangalore frequently noticed a derelict light aircraft stored behind one of the hangars at Jakkur airfield. Both B Harry and Phil Camp have confirmed its registration as VT-ULS, a Husky Ultra Light aircraft belonging to the Aero Club of India. The aircraft has been given to Agni Aerosports for operations and is now aparently out of commission. [27/02/05]
