The National Defence Academy at Khadakvasla , at the outskirts of a Pune is the alma mater of the officers of the defence forces. Here Officer Cadets undergo training for three years before they are allocated to the defence arms for further training. perhaps to create a motivating environs, the NDA Campus is dotted with War Relics - both aircraft as well as tanks.

The Ouragan was first reported by Rahul M, who sent us the earlier pics of the Warbirds at NDA Khadakvasla. Rahul has told us that he was quite sure that an Ouragan was there by the Cadets mess which has now gone missing. The status of this aircraft had been marked down to "Missing".

Mikoyan MiG-25R [KP351]

It was known quite early on in 2006 that NDA Khadakvasla was going to get a MiG-25 to add to its collection. Many press reports originating from the MiG-25 Phase out ceremony had mentioned that NDA was on the list of locations which will receive the Foxbats.

HAL Ajeet [E247]

The place of pride goes to the Gnat which is displayed in front of the Main NDA building. E 247 seems to have been upgraded to Ajeet configuration, but the accompanying plaque identifies the aircraft as a Gnat.

Besides the Gnat , captured Pakistani tanks share the grounds with some other retired warbirds like the MiG-21, Mystere and even an Indian Navy Sea Hawk.
